Latinas Leading Tomorrow (LLT) is a non-profit organization with a mission to connect and expose Latinas to opportunities that enrich their future through education, mentoring, and leadership development.
Our programs seek to provide a safe space for young women to deepen their cultural and racial/ethnic identity understanding and explore what it means to be a Latina in the United States. We recognize the rich diversity in our country and welcome all backgrounds to participate in our programs.
The young women gain intellectual, social, and cultural experiences that help them grow into strong, success-driven young women empowered with the freedom and aspirations to become notable leaders of the future.
To connect and expose Latinas to opportunities that enrich their future through education, mentoring and leadership development.

Madeline LaSalle
Latinas Leading Tomorrow (LLT), is an Arlington-based nonprofit founded in
2004. Conceptualized by Latina students at Wakefield High School, with the support of their counselor Madeline LaSalle, they created an after-school program to address the growing needs of first-generation Latinas. Specifically, LLT focused on supporting Latinas’ dream of being college or university-bound.
From day one, LLT also dedicated itself to connecting middle and high school Latinas to professionals – especially Latina/o professionals – across a variety of careers. These connections are carefully cultivated to provide students with insight into their career options and information on how to successfully open the doors of opportunity.
Today, LLT provides programming to Latina middle and high school students in three key areas: CORE (Creating Opportunities to Reach Excellence), ELITE High School Academy (Exemplifying Leadership in a Team Environment), and Latina Labs (STEM/STEAM mentoring). Additionally, programming now extends to Latina students across Northern Virginia and portions of Maryland.
This program can teach you the essential skills and techniques you need in order to stand out in the competitive college application process and help increase self confidence.
LLT will teach you the skills you need to lead effectively, including public speaking, marketing yourself on Linkedln and giving effective presentations.
You’ll get the opportunity to network with other rising leaders, and benefit from their experiences.
LLT gives you the chance to examine how others perceive you and how you show up in the world! Create your personal brand. You’ll also learn how to communicate your message in a way that truly makes you stand out among others around you.
The academy uses various techniques and examples to emphasize the point that with a little hard work everyone can be a great leader.
Our Latina Board members are a diverse and distinct group of professionals from Fortune 100 firms, government agencies, non-profit organizations, and award-winning Latina-owned small businesses. Board nominations and applications are accepted all-year-round and be found by clicking here.
At Latinas Leading Tomorrow, we are committed to using funds responsibly. For every $1.00 raised, 96 cents goes to supporting girls’ enrichment.
